🇻🇳 VIETNAM –
Tin & Ruby Mining Projects
			OVERVIEW
- Country: Vietnam (Nghe An Province & Nationwide)
 - Project Status: Completed (1996)
 - Start Year: 1989
 - Minerals: Tin (Cassiterite), Ruby, Precious Stones
 - Mining Type: Alluvial (Placer) Deposits
 - Technology:
ο Tin/Cassiterite Processing Plant – 150 TPH
o Ruby Processing Plant – 150 TPH
o Configured with classifiers, clay-breaking mechanisms, jig concentrators, and concentrating tables
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
In 1989, the Embassy of Vietnam in Bangkok officially approached DOVE to modernize and mechanize Vietnam’s tin mining industry, which at that time relied almost entirely on manual methods.
At the time, Vietnam was under embargo and sanctions, with no access to modern mining technology. DOVE accepted the challenge and became the first foreign company to introduce mechanized mineral processing plants in Vietnam, laying the foundation for professional large-scale mining operations in the country.
Government Relations & Recognition
- Received a VIP welcome from the Vietnamese government.
 - Established close cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and senior authorities.
 - In 1990, DOVE established a representative office in Hanoi, maintained until 1996, as a base for project development and coordination.
 - Built a long-term reputation as a trusted international partner in Vietnam’s mining and industrial sector.

			Tin and Cassiterite Project
- Plant Capacity: 150 tons per hour.
 - Plant Features:
♦ Configured with DOVE Advanced Jig Concentrators and Concentrating Tables
♦ Fully engineered for high recovery of fine cassiterite
♦ Designed, assembled, and commissioned by DOVE’s engineering team
♦ On-site training of Vietnamese engineers and operators for technology transfer - Impact:
♦ First professional cassiterite processing plant in Vietnam
♦ Significantly improved recovery rates and production efficiency
♦ Enabled major tin concentrate exports to Malaysia and other international
Ruby Discovery - Nghe An Province
			- During exploration, Dr. Fillip Sharifi (CEO, DOVE) discovered natural ruby particles in stream sediments.
 - At the time, rubies were locally referred to as “Color Glass” with no commercial value.
 - Dr. Sharifi became the first to apply for and receive an official mining permit for ruby exploration and mining in Vietnam.

- Following the permit, DOVE installed a 150 TPH mechanized ruby recovery plant, equipped with:
♦ Classifiers and clay-breaking systems to process sticky alluvial ore
♦ Series of jig concentrators to ensure highest gemstone recovery with zero loss - Knowledge Contribution:
♦ Supplied gemstone identification and testing instruments to the Hanoi University laboratory, advancing gemological education in Vietnam. - In 1990, Dr. Sharifi introduced Vietnamese rubies into the Thailand gem market for the first time.
♦ The stones were immediately recognized as comparable to Burmese rubies, achieving strong international demand.
Legacy & Impact
- First introduction of mechanized tin and gemstone processing plants in Vietnam.
 - First official ruby mining permit in Vietnam’s history, awarded to Dr. Sharifi.
 - First mechanized ruby processing plant (150 TPH) in Vietnam.
 - Discovery and international recognition of Vietnamese ruby deposits.
 - Education & Science: Supplied gem testing instruments to Hanoi University, contributing to the development of Vietnam’s gemological expertise.
 - First international introduction of Vietnamese rubies into global markets, beginning in Thailand.
 - Strengthened diplomatic, industrial, and commercial ties between Vietnam and international partners.
